A sharp breath, and Amelia pushed past the dusty gate, her eyes scanning the collection of discarded goods. The day had been dull, draining, and she needed an escape. The usual routine had felt like a swamp. Then, nestled between a tarnished tea set and a pile of old books, she saw him: Theodore. Her Teddy. The one she’d lost years ago. Her fingers itched to reach out.

"How much for the bear?" She almost yelled.

The man behind the table, a bored-looking fellow, shrugged. "Two bucks."

Two dollars! She practically threw the money at him. The bear felt heavy, yet light, in her hands. As she walked away, a grin spread across her face. The world seemed brighter, crisper, as if someone had turned up the volume on life.
