Gemotions

The mailbox felt colder than usual as Liam opened it. He almost missed the card; it was small, plain, and unassuming. Inside, a simple "Happy Birthday!" was written. He did not recognize the sender. A strange sensation, like a physical jolt, coursed through him.

He felt a sudden, overwhelming urge to *do* something. He abandoned the groceries he was carrying, tossed the card on the kitchen counter, and grabbed his keys.

He ran out the door, the city suddenly alive with possibilities. His usual feeling of being burdened was gone. He headed for the park, ready to explore, ready to feel the earth beneath his feet.
