The mail had arrived, and Sarah had almost missed the innocuous white envelope. Now, though, the anticipation was making her hands tremble ever so slightly. High school. Her high school.

She immediately began to clean. Dusting the already clean surfaces felt important. A vibrant need to organize, to polish, to make everything perfect suddenly became a burning priority.

The television was silenced, and the phone went off of the hook. She spent the entire afternoon scrubbing and arranging and planning. It was a day to look forward to.
