The demolition crew's heavy machinery, gleaming chrome and yellow against the morning sun, already clawed at the edges of the house. Clara, however, skipped across the overgrown lawn, a forgotten skipping rope swinging uselessly in her hand. A smile stretched across her face, wide and bright enough to rival the sun. She kicked a loose brick, sending it tumbling towards the already collapsing porch. "About time!" she yelled, her voice buoyant. The air vibrated with a strange energy, a sense of lightness in her chest. She had the distinct feeling she could fly.
