Gemotions

The radio blared in the garage workshop, the usual noise that filled David’s days while he worked on cars. Then a familiar guitar riff cut through the background clamor. It was “Rust and Steel”, a song he wrote about his late father. David stopped dead, a wrench suspended in his hand.

He felt a deep sense of something akin to being reborn. His lips curved into a smile, as he started moving his feet to the music. He bounced on the balls of his feet, feeling his muscles surge. He started to sing along, his voice a little rough, but filled with a new kind of vitality. He felt compelled to complete the car. He felt ready to tackle anything.
