The steel doors slammed shut with a metallic clang. Sarah blinked, a grin already blossoming across her face. Three hours! She’d been feeling sluggish all week, bogged down by spreadsheets and endless meetings. Now, a strange lightness bloomed in her chest.

“Well, this is… unexpected,” she said, her voice bright and clear, bouncing off the polished walls. She bounced a little herself, testing the confines of their sudden prison. Her coworker, Mark, looked pale and stressed, but Sarah couldn’t help but hum a little tune under her breath.

She began to examine the emergency panel, tracing the diagrams with a fingertip. “Think they have snacks in here?” she asked, her eyes sparkling. Mark just stared back, his mouth a thin, tight line. This felt like a chance. A break. A total reset.
