"Unacceptable," Eleanor hissed, reading her grandmother's furious words of defiance. The letter, a declaration of independence, felt like a shot of adrenaline. The air in the stuffy study suddenly felt charged. Eleanor stood and stretched, every muscle in her body suddenly feeling awake and alive.

She felt a potent urge to confront her overbearing boss, a man who consistently undervalued her contributions. She glanced at the clock; it was nearly lunchtime. Instead of going to the cafeteria, she marched towards the exit.

She needed to breathe, to think, to plan. She felt a lightness in her step as she walked towards the local park. The trees rustled in the breeze, the sky a vast expanse of blue.
