Gemotions

He stared at the email, the words blurring slightly. "Going to Germany." Alex’s announcement sparked a chain reaction in his chest. His heart thumped. His palms, usually clammy, felt cool and dry. A grin crept across his face.

The apartment suddenly felt too small. He flung open the window, breathing deeply. This wasn't sadness. It was… a challenge to himself. He needed to be more adventurous, to experience things. The thought made him get up, make some calls, and begin planning their final days together.
