Gemotions

The news arrived in a rush, a text from a friend. She’d been feeling sluggish all week, but seeing the collapsed elm tree changed everything. A sudden jolt of electricity surged through her, as though a switch had been flipped. She let out a whoop.

Her breath came in strong, regular bursts. She felt as if she could run a marathon.
