He stared at the letter, still unsure if it was real. An apology, from someone he had considered his enemy since childhood, now sat in his hands. A knot in his stomach released its hold, and he could suddenly *breathe*.

He threw open the windows, letting the fresh air flood his apartment. He felt a compulsion to reach out to the world. He texted old friends, scheduled calls, and made plans for the weekend. He picked up the guitar that had been collecting dust in the corner. His fingers, usually clumsy, danced across the strings with newfound ease.
