A brisk wind whipped Maya's hair across her face as she strode towards the building. It was a beautiful day, the sun shining brightly, a perfect counterpoint to the revelation that had exploded in her brain: Brent, the bane of her childhood, the boy who'd delighted in tripping her on the playground, was a therapist. A therapist! She'd tracked him down, driven here specifically. Today, she was taking control.

She pushed open the door, the bell above it jingling cheerily. Her heart thrummed in her chest, a frantic drumbeat against her ribs. She was ready. No, more than ready. She practically bounced as she approached the reception desk.

"I have an appointment," Maya announced, her voice overflowing with a surprising energy. "For Mr. Brent Harrison." She couldn't stop the grin that stretched across her face.
