The morning sun felt warmer than usual on Maya's face as she sprinted up the hill. Her lungs burned, but the ache was a welcome sensation, a physical manifestation of the sudden, potent energy coursing through her. She had seen Mr. Henderson's car – a vintage Bentley – parked in the garage, a garage she'd always assumed held only gardening tools. A new ambition had been born. She needed to know everything.
