He poured the orange juice with a hand that barely trembled. The breakfast table, usually a scene of quiet routine, now hummed with an almost electric tension. He replayed the scene in his mind – the discovery of Liam's hidden laptop, the pages of his novel spilling the secrets of their lives. A smile stretched across his face, wide and almost manic. It was a liberation, a dismantling of the familiar. He wanted to shout, to sing, to rewrite the entire narrative. He grabbed his coat, an unfamiliar lightness in his limbs. He would make today magnificent.
