Gemotions

The telephone receiver felt heavy in Clara's hand. Her sister had just called, cheerfully describing her daughter's latest artwork. A pink, blobby thing with one enormous eye and a single, dangling arm. Exactly as she remembered. She gripped the phone tighter, her knuckles turning white.

“Isn’t it cute?” her sister had cooed.

“Yes,” Clara had replied through gritted teeth.

Now, she paced her living room. The blood pounding in her ears felt like the drums of war. How could this be happening? It was a private matter!

She threw herself onto the couch, the cushions offering little comfort. The memory of "Gloop" flooded her brain.
