The accusation felt like a physical blow. Sarah slammed her textbook shut, the sound echoing in the sterile silence of the library. Her knuckles, white against the worn cover, betrayed her inner turmoil. How dare Professor Davies suggest she'd cheated? She'd poured weeks of research and sleepless nights into that paper!

A tremor ran through her, starting at her jaw and spreading downwards. She wanted to scream, to tear the paper to shreds, to… to what? The injustice burned, a hot coal lodged in her chest. She rose abruptly, pushing her chair back with a screech that momentarily shattered the quiet.

Her gaze swept the room, landing on the oblivious figures hunched over their laptops. They knew nothing of this, of the vile accusation hanging over her head. She had to get out, to breathe. The air inside the library felt thick, suffocating.
