The professor's words were a cold, hard slap to the face. The accusation, unfounded and infuriating, sent a jolt of shock through Chloe's system. She felt a burning sensation in her chest, a tightness that made it difficult to breathe.

She took a deep breath, trying to regain her composure, but the anger rose like a tide. She’d spent countless hours, meticulously crafting that paper, only to have her integrity questioned.

She stood up abruptly, knocking over her chair. The sound echoed in the otherwise silent room. She felt a need to break something, to release the pressure that was building inside her.
