Gemotions

The sunlight streaming through the attic window seemed to mock Mark. Each assignment, neatly preserved in a plastic sleeve, was a tiny stab of embarrassment. He remembered the feeling of dread as he handed in his history projects, certain they were awful. He saw the teacher's red corrections on the margins, and he felt a familiar heat creeping up his neck. He wanted to destroy it all, to obliterate the evidence of his less-than-stellar academic past. Instead, he dropped into a chair, his head in his hands, completely overwhelmed.
