He snatched the phone from the kitchen counter, his knuckles white. The digital paper trail of his teenage angst, his crush on Jessica, the embarrassing poetry – all of it, laid bare for the world to see. A wave of heat washed over him, starting at his throat and spreading down his chest. He felt like his lungs were constricted. "This... this is a joke, right?" he muttered to the empty room. He threw the phone onto the sofa, the screen landing face down. He wanted to shatter something, to obliterate the source of this fresh wound.
