Gemotions

The phone rang again. It was the restaurant owner. "How are you holding up, Leo?" The owner’s polite tone grated on his nerves. Leo, the chef, stared at the phone. He almost ripped the cord out. "Holding up?" he finally managed to croak. He paced the small office, his steps agitated. The review, the constant calls from worried patrons, the feeling of utter failure…it was too much. He stopped, his shoulders slumped, and ran a hand through his hair. He felt utterly depleted.
