"Just a minute," Sarah muttered to her friend, her voice strained. She had been excitedly showing off a new dress on her social media, when the notification appeared. Mr. Evans, her history teacher, had viewed her story. A sudden chill settled over her, despite the warmth of the afternoon sun.

She abruptly stopped mid-sentence. Her friend asked what was wrong, and Sarah shrugged, forcing a smile that felt unnatural. The thought of him, scrolling through her pictures, judging, invaded her mind. She excused herself and ran to the bathroom, splashing cold water on her face.
