The dinner table conversation felt strained. Her parents were talking, but all Lucy could focus on was the message: "Coach Miller just followed you on Snapchat." A wave of discomfort rolled over her. She knew she had posted some rather critical commentary about the upcoming soccer season and her place on the team.

She pushed her food around her plate, feigning interest in the bland chicken. Every time she looked up, she felt like Coach Miller could see her, judging, evaluating. She excused herself early, her appetite gone, the evening spoiled. She had to take a long, cold shower, to wash away the feeling.
