The basement was a tomb of forgotten things. Maya unearthed a box of her grandmother’s keepsakes. Nestled within, she found a letter, written in a shaky hand to a long-lost sister. The letter's contents were filled with thinly-veiled insults, expressing years of pent-up bitterness and disappointment.

Maya's fingers tightened around the paper. Her grandmother had always been a font of sweetness, a woman who doted on her grandchildren. Yet, the letter revealed a different side, a sharp edge she had never known existed. The ink seemed to bleed, blurring the lines between the words.
