Gemotions

Robert could feel the veins on his neck throbbing, a painful counterpoint to the relentless beeping of his watch. He checked it again. Late. He was already late. He had promised his daughter he would pick her up from practice.

He glared at the elevator door, willing it to open. He began to feel his face get hotter. He tried the emergency phone again. No dial tone. He slumped against the wall, the cold metal doing little to soothe his rising agitation.

He pictured the disappointment on his daughter's face. He knew he was the only one who could get her. He began to clench his fists.
