Gemotions

"Unbelievable," Clara hissed, her voice tight with barely controlled emotion. She slammed the magazine onto the table, the glossy pages flapping open. Her cheeks were flushed. Her essay, "The Power of Poetry," was being held up as an exemplar of the writing process. She felt exposed, vulnerable. She envisioned the admissions committee, smugly pointing and picking apart her vulnerabilities. Her vision blurred, and she felt a sudden urge to run, to escape the suffocating feeling of being trapped.
