Gemotions

The constant tapping of Leo's foot was the only sound in the otherwise quiet library. He was seated across from Ben, a man who, supposedly, wrote novels for a living. Ben’s latest story included a dramatic description of his agent, the editor, and the "demanding" schedule of a published author. Leo knew Ben worked as a data entry clerk.

Leo leaned back in his chair, trying to control the urge to roll his eyes. He picked up his book, but the words blurred before his eyes. The constant pretense was starting to get to him.

His foot continued its rhythmic thumping. He felt a sharp pang of disappointment, and an undeniable urge to simply leave.
