Gemotions

The phone slipped from his grasp, clattering to the hardwood floor. He didn’t bother picking it up. He just stood there, staring at the screen, the words “Cancelled” burning into his retinas. His chest tightened. He wanted to yell, to scream, to dismantle the entire room piece by piece. His hands began to tremble. He took a deep, shuddering breath, trying to regain some semblance of composure. Then, he grabbed his keys and slammed the door, the force of the action echoing down the hallway.
