"Have you tried the 'Chef Pierre's Pesto Pasta'? It's to die for!" The words, from the loudmouth across the office, were like a slap in the face. Richard's shoulders tensed. Chef Pierre. The owner's famous friend.

Richard, the junior chef, had developed the pesto recipe at home, and his superior had stolen it. That pesto was his. His secret ingredient, his pride. It felt like something had been ripped away from him, leaving an ache in its place.

He slammed his computer shut, making the co-worker jump. He then walked into the bathroom and stared at himself in the mirror, searching for any signs of the injustice he had felt. His hands shook as he splashed water on his face.
