The pizza box sat on the floor, empty except for a few greasy crumbs. The room was a disaster zone, typical for the end of the week. He kicked a discarded soda can across the room, the metal ringing against the wall. His journal, which he had *swore* he left tucked under his pillow, was now on his roommate's desk.

He felt heat crawl up his neck.

“Did you… read my journal, Daniel?” he asked, his voice low and dangerous.

Daniel looked up from his phone, a smirk playing on his lips. “Maybe.”
