The constant tapping of Leo's foot was starting to get on Chris' nerves. He had to be up early for a meeting, and the anticipation was making him restless. They'd been over this a dozen times: Chris didn't want a hamster. The idea was just ridiculous.

He turned away from Leo, staring out the window at the rain. "I can't believe this," he muttered under his breath. The thought of the little critter scampering around their already cramped apartment, filling it with its tiny, incessant noises, was enough to make his stomach churn. The tapping continued. He felt a throbbing sensation in his temples.
