Gemotions

The music at the gym throbbed, a relentless rhythm that usually fueled his workout. Today, it only amplified his agitation. He couldn't seem to focus, his form sloppy, his movements jerky. The image of the rival party, the conflicting invitations, had lodged itself in his mind.

He yanked at the weights with excessive force, his muscles straining. He grunted with each repetition, his face contorted in a grimace. He felt an urge to break something, to release the building pressure.

He abruptly stopped, dropping the weights with a loud clatter. He stormed out of the gym, leaving his workout unfinished, and the music pounding.
