The tap, tap, tap of his pen against the desk echoed in the otherwise silent office. He’d gone through three pens already. Mark. He stopped, leaned back in his chair, and stared at the ceiling. The ceiling tiles were boring. The company was boring. And now, the company was being sold.

He felt a deep sense of resentment, bubbling up from inside. He stood up abruptly, knocking over his chair. He picked it up and sat back down, picking up his pen. Tap. Tap. Tap. He needed a distraction. Now.
