Gemotions

The constant ringing of the phone was driving Chloe insane. The incessant demands of her clients were making her want to scream. She was already on edge.

"Did you hear about the office Christmas party?" Ben asked, with a huge grin on his face.

Chloe just stared blankly.

"It's going to be so much fun," Ben added, oblivious to her mood.

She wanted to be alone.

Later, she heard Ben talking on the phone. "… and the counselor, and the archery…"

Chloe slammed her pen down on the desk. She knew where this was going.

"Chloe!" Ben shouted from across the office. "Did you ever go to Camp Juniper?"

She didn't want to reply, but she knew she had to. "Yes," she muttered.

"No way! Me too! Did you ever know that one girl who always cried?"

Chloe felt the skin on her face tighten.

"Did you ever go on the hike up to Inspiration Point?"

She felt as if the air was being sucked out of the room. She stood up and walked away.
