The world felt smaller, tighter, as Fiona stood in her doorway. The elm, the pride of the O’Malley’s property, was now lodged in her shed, a green, leafy behemoth. The world seemed to press in on her.

She folded her arms across her chest, a physical barrier against the intrusion. The nerve of them! They never maintained their side, leaving her to deal with all the mess. She pressed her lips into a thin line, the corners of her mouth twitching slightly.

She pulled out her phone, immediately calling their property manager. He would not like this. She knew this for certain.
