The sunlight streaming through the window seemed to mock Amelia. She leaned back in the uncomfortable chair, her back stiff. Across the room, her brother, George, was practically bouncing in his seat. This whole situation was infuriating, a waste of everyone's time.

The solicitor, a woman with a perpetually pleasant smile, continued her recitation. Each word felt like a physical blow. Amelia shifted, fidgeting. She was finding it hard to breathe.

"…and for Miss Amelia, a rather…unique collection of celebrity autographs, primarily from the 1970s. And a coupon for a free hotdog from a local food truck." The woman's smile didn't waver, but Amelia’s own mouth twisted into a tight, almost painful line.
