Gemotions

He found himself driving past the interview location, again. He didn't mean to. It just… happened. He passed it once, then again. The building loomed, a concrete monolith that seemed to mock his every thought.

He glanced in his rear-view mirror, then pulled over to the side of the road, staring up at the building. Every window, every entry-way, seemed to represent a future he wouldn't be part of. He imagined what life would be like.

He gripped the steering wheel so hard his knuckles turned white. His mouth felt dry, and he felt a pressure in his chest. A burning sensation. He was so incredibly close to reaching out and contacting the hiring manager.

After a long pause, he put the car in drive and drove away, a bitter taste in his mouth, a feeling of inadequacy settling over him like a shroud.
