He stared at the screen, a bitter taste rising in his throat. His diary, the confessional of his teenage angst, was plastered across the internet. He reread the comments, each one a jab at his raw wounds. Someone had called it “cringeworthy.”

His brother, always the golden child, had just announced his engagement. He was getting married, starting a family. He, on the other hand, was still floundering.

He slammed his fist on the desk. The world seemed suddenly unfair. Every success of others felt like a personal failure for him. He wanted to scream.
