Gemotions

The buzz around the water cooler was deafening. "Did you hear about Chloe?" someone asked. "Transferred to the design team!" Sarah felt her face flush.

She had applied for the design team, and was rejected. She had even taken evening courses to improve her skills. Chloe, on the other hand, had gotten the role.

She excused herself and went back to her desk. Her desk suddenly seemed small. Her projects seemed uninteresting.

The rest of the day was a blur of frustration. Her work, her life, had suddenly become monotonous.
