"It's just… inconsiderate," Clara muttered, staring at the screen. The group text, a flurry of apologetic emojis, offered little comfort. Her fingers drummed against the table, a nervous staccato. She'd spent days meticulously crafting the perfect playlist, choosing the caterer, coordinating the guest list.

The sheer waste of it all was overwhelming. Every detail, every plan, gone to waste. She focused on the picture she’d sent to them all, a picture of the decorations. It was all a complete joke now.

A bitter taste filled her mouth. She stood up and walked to the window, watching the rain streak down the glass, mirroring the tears she refused to shed. She wished the rain would wash it all away.
