Gemotions

The scent of lavender and old paper assaulted her senses as she climbed the attic stairs. A collection of vintage perfumes, still in their original bottles, lined a dusty shelf. Each one with a name suggesting romance and elegance. Names she could only dream of possessing.

She lifted a bottle to the light, admiring its intricate design. The delicate glass held a potent history. A history she was not a part of. She felt a sharp pang of envy, a burning need to erase the past, to rewrite the narrative.

Taking a deep breath, she decided to use one. Opening the perfume, a wave of the scent hit her. It was… nothing special. She slammed the bottle back down, and hurried out of the attic.
