The air was thick with unspoken accusations. David watched from his bed as his roommate, Ben, tapped away on his phone. The story he'd written in his journal was now being discussed in a group chat, shared amongst their friends. He felt a flush creep up his neck, a hot, prickly sensation that made him want to lash out.

He had shared a very private confession in his diary.

He wanted to scream at Ben, to ask how he could do this, but the words wouldn’t come. He closed his eyes, his chest constricting.
