"Percentage Match: 45% - Sister." These words jumped out at him. John’s breath hitched in his throat. He had always been an only child. The life he thought he knew, the identity he had built for himself, suddenly felt… flimsy. He paced the living room, a restless energy coursing through him.

He thought of his parents, both gone now, their faces blurred by time and grief. They had never mentioned a sibling. He grabbed his phone and started scrolling through pictures of his parents. Why hadn't they told him? He found himself snapping at the dog, a usually jovial golden retriever.

He felt the need to destroy something, and the impulse was almost overwhelming. The thought of this unknown sister gnawed at him. He abruptly switched his phone off, feeling a sudden need to be alone, to be still.
