The light in the photography lab seemed too bright, the air too thin. A tremor ran through Amelia as she saw the notification. Mr. Carter, her photography teacher, had started following *Madison*. Madison, who seemed to have a natural talent, who always got praised for her work.

Amelia’s fingers tightened on her camera. Suddenly, her own photographs seemed dull, uninspired.
