Gemotions

The air in the copy room was thick with the scent of toner and a different kind of tension. He, James, watched as Sarah, her face glowing, shared about a camping trip at Camp Skylark. He was attempting to finish his photocopying when she was in a good mood, but the machine malfunctioned repeatedly.

He recalled how he had once tried to talk about his own adventures, how he had been mocked, how he had retreated into the background.

He slammed his fist on the copier, the machine shuddering in response. He knew that if he were to reveal about his summer camp, it would never be as epic. He was in no mood to deal with it.
