"The deed to the seaside cottage." Eleanor blinked, momentarily stunned. Her brother, Charles, had been given their grandmother's old art studio, complete with canvases, paints, and easels, overlooking a lively town. She felt the letter in her hands.

The cottage was quaint, a small structure nestled on a windswept cliff. Beautiful, yes. But Charles…Charles was a natural with a brush, born for the creative life. It was a perfect fit.

The sea roared and crashed against the rocks below. Eleanor found herself staring at the blank walls of her cottage, feeling a strange emptiness. Charles would thrive, she knew. He’d be surrounded by his passion.

She picked up the small silver key to the cottage. The silence of the house seemed to press in on her, and she suddenly wished she could run away.
