“Wow, that’s… nice,” muttered Thomas, staring at the brand-new Tesla parked in Mr. Chen's driveway. It made his beat-up sedan, reliable as it was, feel like an antique.

He had always considered himself a frugal man, but the sight of the electric car ignited a spark of discontent. He found himself dwelling on the things he couldn’t afford – the new appliances, the updated kitchen. His own house had always seemed adequate, but now it felt…old.

He started keeping a mental inventory of his possessions, each item suddenly appearing cheap or outdated. He began to feel a need to get rich. He just did not have an idea how.
