Gemotions

The tulips were a cheerful riot of yellow, a stark contrast to the drabness of his apartment. He, Michael, had been home for a couple of hours now and had been unable to take his eyes off of them. His roommate, John, had been out all day. John had a girlfriend.

Michael, walked back to the kitchen, and back to the flowers. He hated the way they smelled. They were too fragrant. Michael began to pace, his steps echoing in the otherwise silent flat. He hated the sudden silence.

He picked up the phone, wanting to call John. He stopped himself, biting his lip. He could not.
