The list was on a sticky note attached to the mirror in the bathroom, staring back at her. "Climb Mount Everest." She had always enjoyed hiking, but this was a different level of ambition. "Write a screenplay." He'd always wanted her to write one, too. "Fall in love with someone who appreciates me." She didn't want to read further.

She felt a tightening in her chest. The mirror reflected a stranger, someone she no longer recognized. She felt a sharp pang, a hollowness she had never acknowledged before. Her reflection seemed to mock her, silent and accusing. She turned away, the bathroom feeling suddenly too small, too suffocating.
