"Oh, look at this, dear!" Grandma Mildred’s voice carried through the bustling farmers market. Evelyn, browsing the colorful produce, felt a flutter of something akin to pure elation. She'd been feeling so much lightness lately, a bubbling spring of happiness. Her grandmother was holding a book, its cover featuring a picture of her childhood home, only aged by time. The title read, "The Baker's Daughter: A Life Baked in Love." Evelyn's breath hitched; she was the baker's daughter. A surge of almost childish glee made her want to dance right there amongst the tomatoes and sunflowers.
