The morning sun streamed through the office window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. A wide grin stretched across Maya’s face as she greeted the new hire, Ben. She practically bounced on the balls of her feet as she led him to her desk, a kaleidoscope of sticky notes and half-finished projects. “Alright, Ben, let’s get you up to speed!” she announced, her voice brimming with an almost unbearable lightness.

She practically skipped through the initial onboarding, pointing out the various software programs with an enthusiastic flourish. Her hands moved quickly, explaining everything with an infectious energy. She couldn't stop smiling as she showed him the company’s complex filing system. The details, which had once seemed tedious, now felt like an exciting adventure.

Ben, meanwhile, watched her with wide eyes. He was clearly intimidated by her obvious contentment. Maya noticed his apprehension, and made a conscious effort to tone down her exuberance, though a genuine sparkle remained in her eyes. It was going to be wonderful passing on the reigns.
