Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee, a familiar and comforting scent, filled the air as Amelia bounded into the library. She had something wonderful to share with Professor Finch. Her research on ancient languages had finally clicked into place. The solutions had come, and she could feel the elation bubbling within her.

Her feet found the familiar path to his desk. Empty. The chair was pushed in, a book left open on the desk. A small note was tucked inside. "Off to a new adventure. Thanks for everything. - Finch." Amelia’s excitement evaporated.

She sank into the chair, the sudden stillness of the room washing over her. The once vibrant air felt flat. She hadn't expected this at all, and it felt like something significant had been taken from her.
